I don't know about everyone else, but I enjoy reading from the boys perspective. I know we don't get a lot of that in YA, but there are definitely some standouts for me that are male pov and I thought it was a good theme for one of this weeks giveaways!
I've picked out six male POV books that I have read and adored (okay five, I haven't actually read PAPER TOWNS, but I have been assured that it is good! Thanks, Lexie!) and the winner of this one is going to get their pick of which one they want me to send their way :0)
Since I don't want to leave anyone out, this one is going to be international, as long as The Book Depository ships to you!
Oh, hey there, you probably want to know which books you could win...
a Rafflecopter giveaway
My favorite Male POV is Cas from Anna Dressed in Blood. I really enjoyed that book. There should be more male POV books in Young Adult Books.
ReplyDeletefav male pov// mmm/ hushed by kelly york/ the marked son by shea berkley and rapture by phillip w simpson/ they need more recognition
ReplyDeleteSince I read it only about 2 months ago I thought Iron Knight was really great. As a reader I got to know him more other than the cold Ice Prince.
ReplyDeleteI've only actually read 2 of those up there, but I thought Where She Went was FANTASTIC. Not only was the book phenomenal, I thought the male voice was strong and consistent. Never once did I stop and think hmm...that's the writer showing through.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this week of giveaways!

ReplyDeleteI liked Tempest by Julie Cross!
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten this one, so thank you!
DeleteIncarceron by Catherine Fisher when is from Finn's POV.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the giveaway!
This probably doesn't count because only half or part of the book was in the male POV, but I really loved Ky's point of view in Crossed by Allie Condie. I got this book on audiobook from my library and the guy who did Ky's narration was perfect. I wish all male parts of audiobooks were read by Jack Riccobono!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Perry's POV in Under the Never Sky. My mind is drawing a blank this morning. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
First, thanks for the great giveaway! :]
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book from a male's pov...is either An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, or Snakecharm by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Ooo! Or maybe The Last Knight by Hilari Bell. Hmm...tough choice...
My favorite book ever is Will Grayson, Will Grayson which alternates point of view between 2 guys. I would love to win The Disenchantments. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYou don't know this book or this writer because is a book write in spanish, but I really enjoyed when I had fifteen Kirtash's POV. Kirtash is a character of Memorias de IdhĂșn by Laura Gallego. You have some information about the triology here --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Idh%C3%BAn%27s_Memories
ReplyDeleteI just finished For The King and I enjoyed it very much.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that I've read one in the male perspective other than Crossed by Ally Condie, which wasn't necessarily my favorite. I also read 13 Reasons Why which was in the male POV. I actually really enjoy reading books in male POV.
ReplyDeletePaper Towns is really good. You'll probably like it! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite book with a male POV is probably Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You by Peter Cameron!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Creatures by Stohl and Garcia
ReplyDeleteI loved Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma, which is half told from a male POV.
ReplyDeleteAngie @ Pinkindle Reads & Reviews
I actually don't read male POVs.. not as much as I liked, but I liked Where She Went :D
ReplyDelete- juhina
Hmm, not fully told from his POV, but Maggie Stiefvater's The Scorpio Races is 1/2 told from Sean Kendrick's POV and, well, Sean Kendrick has a great name and he's 100% amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe Curse Workers series, Where She Went, Try Not To Breathe, and The Piper's Son. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHmm, Harry Potter is my favorite male POV hehe! I also enjoyed Edward's POV in Midnight Sun, though I'm not Twihard! Adam in Where She Went also captured my heart, like forever. <3
ReplyDeleteI don't know where to find you unicorn, but I hope you find one! Just let me ride on it! :P
I would say any of Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros books. Even though she's a female, two of her three series are about brothers. For a YA series, I'd say the Potter books.
ReplyDeletedefinitely Ash's from the Iron Knight, love him and was escatic to find out it would be from his pov
ReplyDeleteHmm, there are a lot of them. Do you know Jack Kerouac's, On The Road? That's a good one.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Tempest by Julie Cross.
ReplyDeleteA Separate Peace by John Knowles.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed I Know It's Over by C.K. Kelly Martin
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLooking for Alaska! With Going Bovine being a close second. (:
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Where She Went. Thanks for the giveaway! :)
ReplyDeletethe vampire lestat
ReplyDeleteIt's not completely male POV but I like Luc from Personal Demons :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite book from a male POV is Perks of Being a Wallflower. I really liked reading about Charlie.
ReplyDeleteAsh from The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa, Adam from Where She Went by Gayle Forman.....they're the only books I can think of that are told from a male's point of view!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
I love Ethan in the Caster Chronicles :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read too many, but I really liked Grave Expectations!
ReplyDeleteI like the POV of Alek from the Leviathan series :D
ReplyDeleteThe Beautiful Creatures series.
ReplyDeleteSo far, my favorite book with male POV is Little Brother, although I also like it when Carter assumes the POV in the Chronicles of Kane series by Rick Riordan =]
ReplyDeleteProbably The Name of the Wind by Pat Rothfuss. Although Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series and Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles are also really good. Too bad none of those are YA :)
ReplyDeleteAcross the Universe (this one actually switches off between Elder and Amy's POV, but I think it still counts :)
ReplyDeleteDark Life by Kat Falls
The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri
The World According to Garp by John Irving
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
. . . and Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer would definitely make the cut if only it'd be released (please, please!!)
Right now my favorite book with a male POV would be The Beautiful Creatures series!!
ReplyDeleteA good portion of my favorite books are written from a male POV surprisingly, but among my favorites are Holly Black's Curse Workers series, Kenneth Oppel's Airborn novels, and the Bartimaeus Trilogy.
ReplyDeleteThe Harry Potter books and Beautiful Creatures!
ReplyDeleteThe Sleepwalkers was probably my favorite recent male POV read. It creeped me out and prevented me from sleeping for a few nights!
ReplyDeletei really like quite a few that are male pov but my most recent favorites are cassel from curse workers by holly black and cas from anna dressed in blood by kendare blake : )
ReplyDeleteThe Percy Jackson series. BEST EVER!
ReplyDeleteAshfall! That book was so very, very good :)
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter!
ReplyDeleteI'm drawing a blank, but the one that comes to mind is the Inheritance Series. I like those.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity.
I liked Tempest by Julie Cross!
ReplyDeleteI Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (or Harry Potter which is an all time favorite!)
ReplyDeleteMy fave books from a male's POV would probably be Beastly by Alex Flinn.
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between "Where She Went" and "Anna Dressed in Blood"... my insane crush on Adam, however, probably pushes "Where She Went" ahead by a very minimal margin. I just let "Anna" to a good friend; I love sharing both of these books!
ReplyDeleteIs so hard for me to read male POV's but I really loved Razzle.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's kind of funny that you would mention it because I actually found a unicorn in my mom's car yesterday, it was purple and sparkly I want to say it's name was Twilight something.
Paper Towns, definitely. :D (in case you hadn't already noticed . . . :P) It's hilarious and poignant and incredibly thought-provoking; it left me thinking for weeks after I'd finished. Sometimes I still think about it. The things John Green brings up are the kind of things that are so raw and relevant and powerful that they just won't leave your mind.
ReplyDeleteAnd, since the theme is guy POV . . . well, being a guy, John does it rather brilliantly. He doesn't fall into the typical stereotypes that many females encounter when trying to figure out a male voice, but he also never strays on the feminine, flowery side of things. He's just . . . a guy. Which is perfect, for the book.
(I am also quite in love with Where She Went, for the record)
Cas from Anna Dressed in Blood. I love him sooo much! He is a good un! Or Eragon is a pretty good male POV. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteJaime Lester jeepgirl529@yahoo.com
My favourite book with a male protagonist would be White Cat by Holly Black.
ReplyDeleteThe land.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I don't read many but my favorite is Beautiful Creatures.
ReplyDeleteThe Caster Chronicles series, which is sooooooooo great!
ReplyDeletePercy Jackson and the Olympains. And Harry Potter. They're the best ever.
ReplyDeleteThe one right of the top of my head is the entire Percy Jackson series. I believe Thirteen Reasons Why is also male perspective and it's one of my faves (it's been FOREVER since I've read it, thus being unsure).
ReplyDeleteAcross the Universe, at the moment. My favorite book is The Host by Stephenie Meyer, and it would be awesome if she writes a sequel through Ian's perspective.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE GIVEAWAY! (:
The Given Day is my favorite
ReplyDeleteannettekz2@yahoo.com
Harry Potter! And Percy Jackson and the Olympians! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! :)
There are so many wonderful ones! I have a huge crush on Ash, but I loved Adam and Cas, too! I also really enjoyed John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series and, of course, Harry Potter. :)
ReplyDeleteJ. K. Rowling's Harry Potter! And Simone Elkeles' Perfect Chemistry!
ReplyDeleteI loooooved Anna Dressed in Blood. So much! It's definitely my favorite male POV book ever. :)
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter is the one that comes to mind. But I did really enjoy Split by Swati Avasthi!
ReplyDeleteCas from Anna Dressed in Blood. I wish there were more male POV's out there.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean like 1st person Sg or 3rd person Sg? Anyway, I'm not sure how many books like that I've read but I really liked Looking for Alaska by John Green.
ReplyDeleteTempest by Julie Cross!
ReplyDeleteI recently read a book called Forbidden by Megan Curd and the main character, Levi, was intriguing. I enjoyed him.
ReplyDeleteJake Wizner's Spanking Shakespeare (17 Down), remains one of the most hilarious books I've read...ever. And coincidently has a male protagonist, kind of a loser (but not unbearable type who is just dumb), but nonetheless HILARIOUS.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say "Spud by John van de Ruit" is my favourite book from a male POV.
ReplyDeleteJoke:
A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?" "Sixteen," the boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he had an answer so quickly. "How do you know that?" "Easy," the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up, like the Bishop said: 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer"
Thank you!:)
